NMFM has a new home. Dutch webzine Eclectro.nl is hosting our audioshows from now on. A new edition, NMFM #4: And Dream Of Bleep, is now online and available as stream and mp3 download. A few months ago we started a new series of NMFM audio shows on the now defunct Dutch site Cut-Up, which recently called it quits after nine years of cultural blogging. We are delighted that Eclectro has given us a new home and we will continue to make cool narrocast audioshows, full of new musical ideas, received demos and interesting links (forced and found) in music. Our columnist Peter Bruyn will continue his great work for our shows as well. Past shows are also available here.
Dutch webzine Cut-Up reviews Retro Retry 2: Another Another Green World, the remake of Brian Eno’s legendary album from 1975 and uses terms like ‘enough reason to buy the album’ (on the Coen Oscar Polack track The Big Ship) and ‘beautiful’ (on the Hunter Complex track Everything Merges with the Night). Read the whole review here. Cut-Up also posted the third edition of NMFM, our monthly audio show for the webzine. The theme is, you could have almost guessed it, the work of Brian Eno throughout the years. Listen to the audio show here. For previous NMFM audio shows, go to our NMFM page.
The second edition of our monthly audio show at cut-up.com is now online. The theme of the mix is ‘male duos’ and coincides with the release of the Living Ornaments record Korrels that will be out on Narrominded this week. The show was mixed by Lars Meijer and features an audio column by music journalist Peter Bruyn about Apple, oysters and Pan Sonic. Click here to stream/download the show and go to our NMFM-page for previous audio shows.
Webzine Cut-Up has recently launched a new series of audioshows. Alongside a.o. Test Tone, More Tea, Vicar? and The Daisy Age, Narrominded will deliver a monthly edition of our own NMFM show. Each show will have a specific theme to it, and a spoken word column by music connaisseur Peter Bruyn. The first NMFM is entitled Out Here In The Fields: Audiotourism, Found Sound and Field Recordings and has been assembled and mixed by Coen Oscar Polack. Go over to Cut-Up to see the tracklist, and to stream the audioshow or download it as mp3. On our NMFM page you can also find some NMFM shows we’ve done in the past.
Evelyn Austin from Cut-Up wrote a very nice review of the Boutros Bubba cd presentation in Zaal 100, Amsterdam. Read it here.
